12th Annual Mighty Texas Dog Walk 2010

About the Registration

  1. In order to receive a T-Shirt, a person must pay an entry fee.
  2. Multiple people may all walk the same dog for one fee. A group paying a single fee will receive a single T-Shirt.
  3. Extra t-shirts may be purchased online, at Packet Pick-Up or on site

Rules and Logistics:

  1. Walk route is 3 miles with 6 water stops for dogs and people along the way
  2. Walk route has a common start/finish – it ends in same location as it began.
  3. Keep dog on leash at all times.
  4. Only one dog may be walked per person. Each dog must have its own walker – it’s a Guinness Rule!
  5. THSD will supply water and treats for dogs and walkers.
  6. Poop bags - We include a poop bag with your t-shirt and gifts. There are more at the water stops and trash bins along the route. Please use them so we can keep the Mighty Texas Dog Walk an Austin favorite.
  7. Walkers will be asked to leave if their dogs display aggressive behavior.
  8. No shock collars.
  9. No dogs pulling carts.
  10. No refunds.
  11. Rain or shine.
  12. Please sign the tear strip at the bottom of your walk bib and give it to a volunteer at the Finish. That is how we count the walkers for Guinness.

Parking:

Free Parking is available at the TXDOT lots on Congress and Riverside.
City Hall has weekend parking available.

12th Annual Might Texas Dog Walk Route Map

Start

South end of 1st Street Bridge @ Barton Springs. North across the bridge. Left (west) on Cesar Chavez. U-turn @ Austin High School (Stephen F. Austin Blvd). Return along same route. There will be lanes for walkers coming and going.

Water Stops

There will be 6 water stops along the course for people and dogs.

Waste

You will get a waste bag at packet pick up and extras at the water stops. There will be trash bins for your waste bags. Please pick up after your dog!

Finish Line!

Please give the tear strip from your walk bib to a volunteer at the finish line. That is how we count the number of dogs for the World Record. You will receive a Gold Medal for your dog!
