Ain’t Nothin’ But A Service Dog - Elvis

One year later, Elvis and Amy are still Taking Care of Business.

Amy spends her days helping others heal as a licensed professional counselor, and runs Runnin' Free Ranch, a nonprofit in Ennis, Texas, that offers free equine-assisted counseling to veterans, at-risk youth, and families.

Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis as a child, Amy has a limited range of motion. Elvis helps her get what's just out of reach: picking up her phone when she drops it, retrieving her dressing stick, and opening and closing doors. Each task adds to Amy’s independence, empowering her to keep doing what she loves: helping others.

We adopted Elvis from Williamson County Animal Shelter just over two years ago. After thousands of hours invested by our Training and Animal Care teams, he now has a job he loves, a loving home, and his Second Chance.
