Monarch is a gentle little guy who’s made it clear he’s more into cuddles than careers. He’s been in a service dog training program since he was 7 weeks old and has picked up a lot of great skills - but over time, it became clear he’d rather be someone’s best friend than a working dog.
He’s soft-natured, people-focused, and happiest when he’s curled up next to you. Monarch will continue his “pet home” training while he waits for a family to call his own. He already has a great start on basic manners and is the kind of dog who really just wants to be with you.
His mom is a 40-pound Australian Shepherd/Lab mix, and while we don’t know who dad is, we expect Monarch to be medium-sized when he’s full grown.

He’ll do best in a calm, loving home where he can be close to his people. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s more into movie nights than mountain hikes, Monarch could be the perfect match.
