Helping Children Find Their Voice in Court

Walking into a courthouse is scary, especially for a child. It’s even harder when they have to describe the details of their trauma while facing the person who hurt them.

We trained Sumi to be a comforting presence for child victims in the courthouse. Watch her story below:

Thanks to her reassuring presence, many traumatized children have been able to remember important details that they hadn’t initially, which has enabled the Montgomery County DA to put more abusers away.

Thanks to Service Dogs Inc., our littlest victims find their voice and become our biggest heroes.

"We help Texas communities in trouble," says Pam Traylor, retired Victims Services Coordinator for the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. For 8 hours a day, families of victims of the May 24, 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary School spend time with Pam and Sumi as they work through the grieving process.
