Mighty Texas Dog Walk 2018 – Results
This year’s Mighty Texas Dog Walk raised $104,000 for our training program!
What a great way to celebrate 30 years of turning strays into stars!
Thank you, Texas dog lovers! The only thing bigger than our Guinness World Record breaking “Largest Cake for Dogs” is your hearts!
We Did It!
By Mariely Segovia, Elly’s Sweet Shop
Today we finally accomplished something we had been actively working on since January! We broke the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Cake for Dogs!
The previous record stood at 200.38 lbs. We managed to get this behemoth to 304.73 lbs!
For months, I meticulously took our initial recipe, scaled it down to 160th of its size, adjusted it, and ran experiments in my house (which Radar found most delightful😂) until we got this heavy bad boy as the final product!
Had a lot of fun with our team. The Mighty Texas Dog Walk was AMAZING!

From Tina: What we love to do as a company:
Why do you love designing or making cakes?
We love working with our hands. The fact that our work is cake is a bonus.
Designing a cake for someone’s special occasion is amazing as well. We are able to be a part of their celebration without actually being apart of the celebration
The challenge of taking so many design points and turning it into a design that flows is pretty great, too.
Austin’s vivacious specialty cake design and company!

Jennifer Sherwood. Born and raised in Illinois, Jenn moved to Austin, Texas in 1999.
In the early 2000’s she became fascinated with Food Network shows involving anything cake. The turning point was when Pastry Chef Marina Sousa created an incredible wedding cake, narrowly finished, and had the look of utter astonishment and humbleness on her face. If one could create edible art, flood her heart into the product, and remain humble this was the path for Jenn.
Jenn attended Culinary Academy of Austin, instructed by Chef Heather Malkani, and graduated in 2009 with a Certificate in Pastry Arts. She completed her internship at Michelle’s Patisserie gaining working knowledge with the guidance of Michelle Doyon.
Jenn established glayz Confections and is currently building a customer base in Pflugerville, TX where she resides with her supportive family. The family has a toddler and two furbabies, Newton and Alaric, both rescues. Newton is a 10 year old Chihuahua/Pitbull and Alaric is a 5 year old Chihuahua/Yorkie.

Kattie Marie Davis is the Pastry Sous Chef at Juliet Italian Kitchen and a professional baker for 10 years.

She studied French style baking and patisserie methods and completed an internship at a local cake shop in San Marcos, Texas.
Katie is a volunteer baker for Bake-A-Wish, an organization that provides custom birthday cakes or cupcakes for children and special-needs adults for non-profit groups or homes such as the women’s shelter or CPS group homes.
Katie has a 6-year-old Boxer-Pitbull Mix named Bowser Bear.
Michelle Garcia is the owner of Bodacious Cupcakes. She’s been creating custom cakes for 5 years.
