Debi Hewitt, newly installed Texas State Madam President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a retired Houston homicide detective knows a good thing when she sees it.

"I fell in love with Service Dogs, Inc. on that first dog walk 4 years ago. I knew then what I would have as my state project," she says.

We presented at the Eagles' State Conference Banquet June 21 in Kerrville. Sheri Soltes, SDI Founder and CEO, shared our story to the hundreds of Eagles leadership in attendance. The true highpoints of the presentation were Ada Kay Brown sharing her story about her Hearing Dog Sensei, Kenny Conley who talked about his Service Dog Ruby and EMS Relations Manager Brandon Miller who brought First Responder Facility Dog Chanel and explained their work supporting hospital staff, paramedics, firefighters and veterans.

Debi's goal is to raise $150,000 over the next twelve months. Usually the Madame President's counterpart, chooses his own charity; but, this year Texas State Worthy President Johnny Dahse chose to throw his support behind SDI, too.

We thank the Eagles, who number 6,000 in Texas, for their esteemed and powerful support. We know we'll soar to new heights together!
