Adoption Application Application to Adopt a Pet Dog (Please note: If you are applying for a Hearing Dog or Service Dog this is not the correct form.) Before filling out the application please be aware of the following: All applicants must be at least 21 years of age You must be able to meet the dog at our Training Center in Dripping Springs, Texas. Because we require a foster period before finalizing the adoption, we rarely work with adopters more than 250 miles from our facility. The annual cost for having a dog is approximately $800 a year, this does not include unexpected veterinary expenses. If you rent we must receive landlord approval before the adoption. SDI dogs will have a varied level of obedience training and will require more training once the animal is placed in your home to ensure the desired behaviors are achieved. All adults living in the household must agree to adopt this dog and help care for it.
